Safety and Security

Staying safe at home is an important part of your health and wellbeing. We can assist by delivering a few key programs and services.

Important services to keep you safe and secure at home.

Contact our Community Support Services team by phone or email contact form to access these services.

Emergency Response System

The Emergency Response System is essential for seniors who live alone or need to quickly contact help for medical reasons, as well as adults who live with disabilities and/or illnesses, who wish to maintain their independent lifestyle. To call for help, clients can simply press a button on a device they wear (a pendant or a wristband).

Friendly Visiting

Our "friendly visitor" volunteers offer emotional support and friendship to those who are feeling isolated or alone. When a client calls us to request a visitor, we do our best to find a good volunteer "match" who then keeps in touch with the client through regular visits and phone calls.

Cost: This service is provided at no charge to the client.

Security Checks

This program is delivered by our caring volunteers, who will call clients on a regular basis to ensure you are safe and well. You can designate the days and times you would like to receive the calls (Monday to Friday). If the volunteer calls and receives no response after repeated attempts, an Emergency Procedure is initiated.

Cost: This service is provided at no charge to the client.
