Highland Wood Long Term Care Home opened in 2000 and provides 30 Long-Term Care Beds in private and basic rooms. Highland Wood is deeply committed to creating a true home-like environment where resident’s feel safe, respected and valued. Care is centred around each individual’s needs, preferences, and life story, rather than routines alone. The Highland Wood team focuses on meaningful relationships, dignity, and choice, ensuring residents are supported not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well. The goal is to make every day feel comfortable, familiar, and purposeful – Just Like Home.
Highland Wood is supported by a multidisciplinary care team that includes registered practical nursing support and PSW support around the clock. Dr. Micheal Armstrong is the Medical Director for Highland Wood. Nurses provide clinical oversight, medication management, and coordination of care, while PSWs deliver hands-on daily support focused on comfort, safety and dignity. Other key care team members at Highland Wood include our activity aides, dietary staff including a registered dietician, physiotherapy team, and support services staff.
