In-Patient Department
The Haliburton site of HHHS includes a 15-bed in-patient department for patients requiring admission to a hospital bed, including 2 larger private spaces used for Palliative Care. In-patient hospital oversight and care is provided by physicians from the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team and HHHS staff. They are supported by an interdisciplinary team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacy technician, laboratory technologists and medical radiation technologists.

Additionally, our team works collaboratively with both Regional and Community Partners to provide care from admission to discharge.

Discharge
Discharge from the In-Patient Department in Haliburton occurs at 10 AM.
HHHS follows the 'Home First' philosophy that promotes safe and timely care, services, and supports to meet the health care needs of patients regardless of their age, hospital location, and length of stay or condition. Our Community Support Services team can also provide supports to help patients transition from the hospital back to their homes, ensuring that they can settle back into their home safely and comfortably, and in a timely manner. In addition, HHHS has access to an Ontario Health and Home Care Coordinator on a referral to support safe discharge transitions.
