Formally known as CCAC, CELHIN Home & Community Care works with you to identify goals for your care, help you transition from hospital to home, support you to remain in your home and community, and provide access to supportive care settings. The agency services the Haliburton Highlands, along with Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, Durham, and Scarborough.

Health Care Connect Program
Care can be provided over the telephone, virtually or in-person as appropriate to patients who are residents of the Haliburton Highlands. If you do not have a physician or nurse practitioner in the Haliburton Highlands, visit the HHFHT website to download and complete a Health Questionnaire or contact the Health Care Connect Program to register.

Providing emergency medical services throughout the County of Haliburton, as well as in parts of the surrounding counties, with 3 bases located in Haliburton, Minden, and Tory Hill. Operates 7 front-line ambulances and employs 50 Primary Care Paramedics, and responds to approximately 4,000 calls per year. The Province of Ontario operates the Ambulance Dispatch centre from Lindsay, Ontario.

Offering a wide range of supports and services to children, youth, and families in Haliburton County, primarily in three service clusters: Family Support, Mental Health Services, and Youth Justice. Services and programs include family support for pre-schoolers, supports for children with developmental difficulties, child and youth crisis intervention, counselling and therapy for children and parents, youth justice services, and summer day camps.

Point in Time also operates the Haliburton County Youth Wellness Hub, which was co-created with Haliburton County youth. Services and supports offered by the Youth Hub for all youth aged 12 – 25 in Haliburton County include mental health and addictions support, primary care and sexual health services, employment and vocational supports, income supports and housing help, and other responsive services as needs arise.

Providing dozens of programs, training, resources, and social enterprises that create resilience, confidence, and connection. Currently providing programs and services for Haliburton County residents including pre- and post-natal programs, supports for families with young children, school readiness programs, a community kitchen and bistro, restaurant and retail training program, and the Thrift Warehouse. Also sponsors programs in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland County, and operates a social enterprise in Bancroft.

Through the Women’s Centre of Haliburton County, the YWCA offers transition support to women concerned about the health of their relationship or are planning to leave an abusive situation, clinical therapy, and family law information and support. The YWCA also operates HERS – Haliburton Emergency Rural SafeSpace, which provides a safe place within Haliburton County so that women and their children can move away from abusive situations in their home, without leaving their support systems, jobs and schools, families and friends behind.

A small team of midwives offering prenatal, birth, and postpartum care for women and newborns with the option of home or hospital birth for low-risk women. Prenatal appointments are available at the Haliburton midwifery clinic and the Bancroft office. Following delivery, frequent home visits are provided during the first ten days. Midwives are the only care providers in Haliburton and North Hastings counties who provide continuous care and support throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

Offering a full range of out-patient addiction treatment and counselling services for those experiencing problems related to substance abuse or problems with gambling. Programs and services include community withdrawal management service, Ontario Works Addictions Services Initiative, treatment services, and individual and group counselling for adults, youth, and family members. Serving residents of Haliburton County, as well as those in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, and Peterborough County and City. Fourcast also works in collaboration with community service providers in City of Kawartha Lakes – Haliburton to support those who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

Located in the heart of the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is an active, acute-care community hospital serving more than 80,000 local residents and seasonal visitors.
Among acute and continuing care services, the team cares for 45,000 patients per year in the 24/7/365 emergency department, provides orthopedics, ophthalmology and general surgery, operates a 15-station dialysis unit, and is renowned for its mental health programs and restorative seniors’ care. The most recent expansion included the addition of MRI service.
In 2018, HHHS integrated some aspects of its operations with RMH, including for some joint leadership positions, harmonization of telephone systems and shared information technology, and fee-for-service arrangements for the provision of some services, including central processing/sterilization services, laboratory services, pharmacy services, and procurement services.

With an annual budget of nearly $324 million, PRHC has more than 460 inpatient beds and offers a wide range of services, including specialized programs in renal, stroke, cardiac, cancer care, vascular surgery and mental health & addictions and has a proud local history extending back over a century.
