Haliburton Highlands Health Services opens CT Scan

New CT Machine services opened at HHHS

Dear Community,

What an incredible journey it has been to bring Computed Tomography (CT) scan to Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS). After completing a feasibility study and working with the Ministry of Health during the application process, we received approval to bring CT Scan and Mammography services to HHHS. From there, we worked with our Facilities Team to bring the suites to life.

Construction began last fall, thanks to the HHHS Foundation and Here for You Campaign volunteer team who continue to work hard to raise the necessary funds. And today, using our new state-of-the-art CT scanner, our Medical Radiation Technologists have scanned our first patients. As we know, CT and Mammography services are just two examples of important diagnostic tools that provide many benefits to the residents of Haliburton County. This journey began more than ten years ago and has taken countless hours, advocacy, fundraising, and teamwork to bring to fruition. I cannot thank each of you enough for this incredible accomplishment.

As we know, there are many benefits for on-site CT Scan, including:

On July 10th, we opened our doors to the media, the public, and our biggest CT advocates, to see the equipment, the space, and welcome patients into HHHS to continue to support them on their health and wellbeing journeys in our community.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Thank you for all your support, patience, financial contributions, and excitement. CT is finally here and will be fully operational July 22, 2024.

Many thanks,

Veronica Nelson
President & CEO HHHS
